The Brazilian School of Cosmology and Gravitation (BSCG) is celebrating its 30th. anniversary during this year´s event. The School was founded in 1978 through the initiative of the Cosmology and Gravitation Group (CBPF). Its efforts are dedicated to the diffusion of works under way in Cosmology, Gravitation, Astrophysics and other related fields in important research centers, as well as to bringing together students and researchers from different countries.

The School meets every other year and has been honored by the most important and prestigious scientists from all over the world, amongst which are R. Aldrovandi, J. Bekenstein, R. Brandenberger, Y. Choquet-Bruhat, B. DeWitt, A. Dolgov, G. F. Ellis, J. Ellis, L. Ford, W. Israel, B. Jones, A. Kirilov, E. Kolb, E. Lifshitz, V. Lukash, B. Mashhoon, V. Melnikov, V. Mostepanenko, M. Novello, I. Novikov, N. Pinto Neto, V. Rudenko, P. Srivastava, A. Starobinsky, G. Smoot, N. Svaiter e B. Unruh.

The XIII BSCG will be held from July 20 to August 2, 2008, near the city of Mangaratiba, 2 hours from Rio de Janeiro, in Hotel Portobello. The intense program of courses, seminars and debates cover the most recent questions concerning Cosmology.
